Mallory Park Circuit

WELCOME TO THE KUTUKA MOTORSPORT WEB SITE
Welcome to the updated site. A few changes for 2008 so even if you’ve been before take a good look around, and there’ll be regular updates here at least after each round of the 2008 season, hopefully a little more often, because it’s going to be a busy year.
If you’re already familiar with Jaguar racing, well, 2008 is the same game as before, but hopefully played to a higher level. If you’re not, read on.
Kutuka motorsport compete in the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club XJS race championship, which as the name suggests is a race series for Jaguar XJS run by the JEC. It’s a remarkably popular series, fast and exciting non-contact circuit racing, big grids, sometimes 30 cars taking the start.
We also compete in a number of races outside the championship when we get the chance, we’ve run in both Future Classics and the Toyo Tyres Racing Saloons series, and we hope to being more of that this year.
Anyway, that’s what we do, and though Kutuka are not newcomers to the Jaguar racing scene we are definitely looking to be a bigger part of it than ever before. See the “Meet the team” section for more detail about the drivers and cars, and check out the race reports and videos to get a taste of what 2007 held, but forgive us if we have a look forward to the 2008 season.
The team at the start of 2007 was one car, one driver, both returning for their first full season since 2005, and a plan to achieve solid, respectable race finishes whilst the team developed the car.
A year on and now it’s three cars, at least as many drivers, new transport vehicles, and with so much development and progress made towards the end of last season there’s a real sense of momentum as we approach the 2008 season.
The hero car remains the white 5.3 litre V12 of team owner Stewert Lyddall. A fully race-prepared V12 manual you can expect to see up at the sharp end he’s now backed up by Andrew Harrison’s 4 litre, and the brand new 4 litre hire car that you’ll be seeing appear throughout the year with various pilots at the controls.
See the new “birth of a race car” section in “car specs” detailing the work that went into the new car. That section has also been expanded a little to add a bit more detail on the changes and problems for Andrew’s 4 litre in ’07 as well as the build of Stewert’s V12. There is also a “Getting Started” section that details how Andrew got started in 2007 and the subsequent lessons learned, which might just help someone thinking of starting out in this crazy world of racing.

.
We’ll be adding video clips after each round, pictures as we get them, if we get them, and as ever if you’ve got any of us or that are of interest send them in and we’ll try to get them up for you as soon as we can.
So what lies ahead for 2008? Well, solid and respectable results just won’t do now, got to keep the 2007 momentum rolling and it’s time that one or more of us got our hands on the winner’s trophy for our respective classes.
It’s a big ask, but the team has come so far in 12 months that you might not want to bet against it. Big ambitions tend to lead to bigger embarrassments when it all comes unstuck, but we’re being brave and announcing our intentions and we’re prepared for the blushes and for you all to point and laugh if it all goes wrong. Watch this space to see how it goes. Race 1 is Snetterton on 5th April, the provisional Calendar is listed below.
Wish us luck, or better yet, come and see us in the paddock, everyone’s welcome!
